Graphene Leaders Canada (“GLC”) Inc. has successfully completed development of its proprietary graphene-enhanced electroless nickel (“EN”) coating additive, representing a significant advancement in protective coating technology for harsh industrial environments. Through extensive formulation, optimization, and testing, GLC’s G+ EN additive has demonstrated approximately 65% improvement in corrosion resistance and 20% improvement in wear and abrasion performance while integrating directly into existing EN plating systems without disrupting standard bath operations.
The technology has broad application potential across multiple sectors including oil and gas, mining, heavy equipment, transportation, aerospace, marine, infrastructure, manufacturing, and defense. Industries operating in highly corrosive, abrasive, or high-temperature environments are continually seeking solutions that extend equipment life, reduce maintenance cycles, improve operational reliability, and lower long-term operating costs. GLC believes its graphene-enhanced EN system offers a practical and commercially scalable solution to address these challenges.
Graphene provides unique advantages within coating systems due to its exceptional strength, barrier protection, conductivity, thermal stability, and resistance properties. When properly integrated into EN coatings, graphene can significantly reduce permeability to corrosive agents while improving coating durability, lubricity, hardness, and wear resistance. GLC has also successfully optimized its formulation by substantially reducing graphene concentration, greatly improving commercial economics and positioning the technology for scalable industry adoption.
