Graphene Leaders Canada (GLC) Inc. Announces Alberta Partnership to Advance Graphene-Enhanced Electroless Nickel (EN) Coatings

Edmonton, AB, November 25, 2025Graphene Leaders Canada (GLC) Inc. is pleased to announce that it has secured an Alberta-based industry partner to advance and commercialize graphene-enhanced Electroless Nickel (EN) coatings, with project activities officially commencing in January 2025. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in GLC’s commercialization strategy and brings the company one step closer to delivering high-performance graphene-modified EN coatings to market.

Electroless Nickel coatings are used extensively across the energy, industrial, mining, and manufacturing sectors for their corrosion resistance, uniform metal deposition, and durability. Integrating GLC’s proprietary graphene dispersion into EN formulations provides compelling performance advantages, including increased hardness, improved corrosion and wear resistance, enhanced temperature stability, and potential mitigation of hydrogen embrittlement. Together, these benefits position graphene-enhanced EN as a next-generation coating system capable of delivering longer service life and improved operational reliability in demanding environments.

Under this new partnership, GLC will supply its proprietary graphene additive and work closely with the partner’s EN coating facility to optimize product performance, streamline production integration, and prepare for customer pilot programs. With multiple customers already expressing strong interest in the technology, this collaboration positions graphene-enhanced EN coatings for rapid market entry. The partner will exclusively procure all graphene additive from GLC, with a formal commercial license agreement anticipated in early 2026.

A key component of this initiative is GLC’s strategic use of its senior coatings engineer, Andrew Migdal, P.Eng., M.A.Sc., who brings more than 37 years of specialized expertise in electroless nickel chemistry, metallurgy, and protective coatings systems. Andrew’s extensive technical knowledge, hands-on experience with major industrial clients, and established industry relationships have positioned GLC to rapidly engage high-value customers. His involvement ensures that graphene integration is executed with precision, industry alignment, and credible technical leadership—significantly accelerating the pathway from validation to commercial adoption.

“These partnerships represent a major step forward for GLC’s coatings division,” said Donna Mandau, President & CEO of Graphene Leaders Canada. “By combining our advanced graphene technology with the production capabilities and application expertise of established EN facilities—and by leveraging Andrew Migdal’s decades of leadership in protective coating systems—we are positioning graphene-enhanced coatings to enter the market quickly and competitively. The growing industry interest underscores the strength of our value proposition and the timing for commercialization.”

GLC continues to expand discussions with additional applicators and industrial partners across Canada as it prepares for scaled production, licensing discussions, and broader market adoption of graphene-modified coatings throughout 2026.
