Graphene Leaders Canada (GLC) Inc. Industry veteran brings 30+ years of coatings engineering expertise to accelerate graphene-enhanced product commercialization.
Edmonton, Alberta – December 1, 2025 — Graphene Leaders Canada (GLC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Migdal, P.Eng., M.A.Sc. as Director, Coatings Engineering & Product Sales. This strategic addition to GLC’s leadership team marks a significant milestone as the company advances graphene-enhanced coating technologies into revenue-generating markets beginning in early 2026.
Mr. Migdal brings more than three decades of specialized expertise in coatings engineering, manufacturing, and R&D which spans a range of fields including materials science, heat treatment of alloys for the oil, aerospace, and automotive industries, metallography, non-destructive testing, and metallurgical consulting for process optimization and validation. He has been instrumental in the development of coating processes and performance testing methodologies, with a distinguished career in protective coatings for corrosion and erosion resistance—such as polymeric, metallic, ceramic, and electroless nickel systems.
As Director, Coatings Engineering & Product Sales, Mr. Migdal will lead GLC’s coating additive development and commercialization activities, beginning with the rollout of graphene-enhanced electroless nickel (EN) additives. This includes supporting product optimization, customer demonstrations, production integration, and technical sales engagement. His technical leadership and longstanding industry relationships position GLC for rapid adoption of its graphene dispersion technologies across multiple industrial sectors.
“Andrew’s appointment represents a major acceleration in GLC’s coatings commercialization strategy,” said Donna Mandau, President & CEO of GLC. “His deep knowledge of protective coating systems, combined with his outstanding industry reputation and customer network, creates an immediate and powerful pathway for GLC’s graphene additives to enter the market. We are thrilled to have Andrew leading this critical division as we transition into our first commercialization phase.”
Mr. Migdal has already begun working with GLC’s new Alberta partner—recently announced—to initiate graphene-EN pilot projects starting January 2026. These pilots follow strong industry demand in search of next-generation performance solutions. Discussions are now underway with several prospective customers across energy, manufacturing, and tooling sectors who have expressed interest in adopting graphene modified EN for improved durability, corrosion resistance, and reduced hydrogen embrittlement.
“I am genuinely excited by the potential that graphene brings to the protective coatings sector,” said Andrew Migdal of GLC. “Its ability to enhance durability, corrosion resistance, and overall performance opens the door to solutions our industry has been seeking for years. The opportunity to integrate graphene into electroless nickel and other coating systems represents a meaningful advancement, and I look forward to helping GLC bring these innovations into practical, real-world applications for customers across multiple sectors.”
GLC is confident that the potential of graphene in protective coatings represents an important advancement for the industry. With its ability to enhance durability, corrosion resistance, and overall performance, graphene provides solutions long sought by sectors that rely on high-reliability coating systems. Mr. Migdal’s expertise in electroless nickel and other coating technologies, combined with GLC’s proprietary graphene dispersion platform, positions the company to deliver meaningful, real-world improvements for customers across energy, manufacturing, tooling, and industrial markets. Through this collaboration, GLC is well-placed to introduce next-generation coating solutions that address long-standing performance challenges and open new pathways for product innovation.
